Jaw pain and headaches

You feel it every time you chew. The jaw that catches or locks awkwardly whenever you open. The headache that wraps up from the back of your neck and head.

It's more common than people think, and it can wear you down. For a lot of people, it's the thing that keeps getting brushed aside, the pain they're told to just live with, without ever finding real relief.

Why the jaw and the headaches go together

A lot of it comes from the same place. Tension in the muscles and joints, often from the clenching and desk stress that tighten everyone's neck and shoulders. When those muscles stay knotted, they refer pain into the jaw, the temples, and the head.

Some of them sit where ordinary treatment can't reach. That's a big reason jaw pain lingers even after people try to address it. It was never treated at the source.

How I treat it

I work on the muscular side directly, finding and releasing the trigger points that are usually the main culprit. For the jaw, that includes techniques that reach muscles only workable from inside the mouth. It's done carefully, and you're in control the whole time.

Any adjustment to the jaw itself is always extra gentle. I never use the traditional cracking or popping on the jaw. Instead I use a specialized instrument that delivers a precise, gentle impulse to help unlock the joint.

I'll also walk you through things you can do at home, including simple exercises and habits to keep the tension from building back up.

And because jaw pain isn't always muscular, I work with dentists too. If yours turns out to be dental or structural, I'll tell you plainly and point you to the right specialist.
